Class of 2026

Use this checklist to stay organized, meet important deadlines, and finish strong.


Path to Graduation

Seniors should monitor their progress throughout the year to ensure they are meeting all graduation requirements and staying on track.

Fall Senior Meeting with Your School Counselor

  • Review credits earned and courses needed to gradutate

  • Review and sign the application for graduation

  • Explore post-secondary plans (college, workforce, or military)

  • Learn how to pay for college, including completing the FAFSA, exploring financial aid and scholarships.

  • Learn about letters of recommendation, and how to request transcripts.

  • Review important senior year dates and events

  • Learn about upcoming senior meetings (cap and gown ordering and speaker nominations)

  • Review Choice Ready requirements and ND scholarship requirements ($6,000)

Ongoing Graduation Tasks

  • Review credits and required courses

  • Make sure they are passing all classes

  • Complete credit recovery if needed


Post-Secondary Planning

College-Bound Students

  • Submit all college applications

  • Send official transcripts to your chosen college

  • Request letters of recommendation

  • Complete the FAFSA with a parent/guardian

  • Review acceptance letters and make a final decision

  • Complete housing and orientation steps if applicable

Career or Workforce

  • Apply for jobs or apprenticeships

  • Build or update your resume

  • Practice interview skills

  • Secure employment or a post-graduation training plan

Military

  • Meet with a recruiter

  • Complete required testing, such as the ASVAB

  • Finalize enlistment steps


Financial Aid and Scholarships

  • Complete the FAFSA with a parent/guardian

  • Apply for local and national scholarships

  • Review financial aid offers

  • Accept or decline financial aid packages

  • Complete financial aid offers from colleges


School Responsibilities

  • Pay all fees and fines (library, textbooks, etc.)

  • Return all school-issued items (Chromebook, uniforms, etc.)

  • Order your cap and gown

  • Check your school email daily


Senior Events and Graduation

  • Attend senior meetings

  • Participate in senior events and activities

  • Confirm graduation ceremony details

  • Invite family and guests


Final Steps

  • Request your final transcript

  • Update your contact information

  • Thank teachers, mentors, and supporters

  • Celebrate your accomplishments
